These are the pensions that were voted on and approved by the City Council as well chronicled by Herbert Molano.  Actions like this show why there is nothing left.  The chart does not show how little the employees paid in nor how much the taxpayers did.  At most the recipients put in 9% of their paycheck while the taxpayers put in 25% and will pay for everything when CalPERS loses more money.  The taxpayer contribution is money that could provide parks, street repairs and more. We have the five people sitting on the dais to blame.  Where is the shame and disgrace to put these beneficiaries before the needs of the public served by the City Council.

 

This is how much former Glendale employees’ pensions were in 2009.  Several of the “retirees” are working for other government agencies following their retirement.  They are collecting a 6 figure salary along with the 6 figure pension.  That is called double dipping.
