12-19-08, Additional Information from Sue Sarkis Regarding the Glendale Cell Tower Issue

Hal -

Glendale cell phone users want the latest and greatest phones and they also want the best service possible, so in order for cell phone providers to improve the quality of wireless transmissions they require newer and taller cell towers and antennas. But where should they put these monstrous towers when everybody needs them but no one wants to see them? You hide them!  Disguised as trees, flagpoles, church steeples & crosses, road signs, silos, lighthouses, boulders and rocks, cacti, and more, cell towers are seamlessly blending into communities and could be hiding in your neighbor's backyard right now!

In the Hamptons they are disguising them as sail boats - http://hamptonstyle.com/detail.ihtml?id=4566&apid=9308&sid=45&cid=163&hm=0&iv=0&townflag=13

Here's a bunch you might want to look at.  Cell phone companies go out of their way to blend the cell towers into the environment.  Here are some samples and they are ingenious.
