Opinion of the Treatment of Escott Norton by GWP and
the
For the time wasted and the stress the
city put him through in this matter he should receive compensation such
as 6 months free water -- or how about a year of free water and an
apology.
If this had happened to me, I doubt
whether I would have been able to come up with his figures to make my
point and I wouldn't have been able to hold my temper. He did a yeoman’s job in making his point.
Seems the GWP department stinks! They make a mistake or there is a malfunction
of some kind and he suffers with his worry, time and cash up front. No logic from these workers.
I thought that the City Council was not
forthright enough after hearing him speak -- only CC Quintero mentioned
"common sense" was needed. But
most response was something similar to: (paraphrasing) Lets look into
this matter or do further checking -- just the same old nonsense. There was no real empathy or real concern
-- it was truly sickening to watch the bureaucrats at work (they all knew about
it before Norton spoke). I really find
it a strain to watch the CC meetings, anyway -- am usually disgusted and
turn it off.
I wonder what would have happened if the
homeowner couldn't come up with the 3K down payment of what was billed . . .
who knows?
