10-21-08, Open Government (???) in Glendale California and The Glendale Family Jewels Web Site

Here is my long overdue opinion and decision regarding links to The Glendale Family Jewels web site on the Open Government (???) in Glendale California site.

It is my opinion that the signature “Anonymous” has no place in any honest and intelligent exchange of opinions regarding Glendale’s elected officials, managers and employees, or in the discussion of Glendale issues.

The anonymous webmaster of The Glendale Family Jewels obviously disagrees with me, as he (or she?) has every right to do. And I would be the last to deny him or her that right. However, I do not choose to post messages from anonymous contributors on the Open Government (???) in Glendale California site, nor to continue to post links to specific Glendale Family Jewels issues, which are laden with anonymous postings, on this site.

So here is what I have changed:

1. All links to specific Glendale Family Jewels issues have been removed from this site,

2. A link to “Open Government (???) in Glendale California and The Glendale Family Jewels” has been added to my Home Page,

3. And, at the “Open Government (???) in Glendale California and The Glendale Family Jewels” page you will find this document posted along with an invitation to post your signed opinion regarding these changes.

There are currently a number of opinions on this site that are signed only with initials. Although these are really “anonymous” postings, they have in most cases become a part of back-and-forth dialogs regarding particular issues. Therefore I am not deleting them. However, from this time on I will NOT post messages that are not signed with the full name of the writer.
