10-16-10, Evelyn Hansen Is All For Water Rate Increases

Hal,

I'm actually all for water rate increases.  The water-wasting lawns still proliferate in Glendale.  We live in a desert & so many in Glendale refuse to plant accordingly.  The only way they will be willing to do so is if water costs too much for them to have lawn.  Now, I don't for a moment believe that the rate increase is to protect the environment.  It's to prop up the ridiculous expenditures of the City Council.  GWP isn't asking for the increase, the council is demanding more $$ from GWP & the only way to get it is to have a rate increase.  If the City Council didn't squander our $$ the way we do, water rates wouldn't have to go up.  But, I'm already a heavy conserver at my home.  I'll pass the increase along to the tenants at my apartment building.

Oh, BTW..... does GWP still have its own.... Private Label Water?  You know, those bottles they hand out at public functions that say GWP on the label?  You can see it in video of City Council meetings.  Before the last 'request' for a rate increase, I asked how GWP could afford the Private Label Water that each of them had, if things were going so poorly.  After that, it disappeared.  Quintero would keep it under the desk & try to hide the bottle as he poured it into a glass.  He isn't good at hiding stuff like that, tho.

If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves. -Winston Churchill
