Subject: Water Rate Increase Opposition

Dear City Council Members,

This message from Mr. Friesen says it all.  The need to increase our water rates is totally caused by the unbelievable increase in our government employee staffing with exorbitant high salaries and pensions over the past several years.  Were all the "gadflies" who have been coming to the council meetings week after week pointing out these issues really right?  All their complaints, presentations of public records, etc. were just attributed to misinformation and not having access to the information that you all apparently had access to.

See you tonight!

Sincerely, Albert Hofmann

Glendale City Council:

While the need for adequate utility rates to provide for a continuing and continuous supply of water, power, and other public services, at a reasonable cost is well understood, I am opposed to any rate increase at this time.  I will continue to be opposed to any rate increases as long as you are illegally transferring funds from the proprietary Departments to the General fund; and providing outrageous benefits and pay to the City Employees.  Balance the Budget by lowering cost and expenses.  Set priorities on needed spending, reduce staff and frivolous activities and their expenses first.
