A recent article (“City
Council looks for cash,” Oct. 4 to 5) mentioned that local leaders want to
solve financial shortages just like the state and federal government — by
seeking ways to “increase revenue.” How much thought has been put to decreasing
expenses?
Through the last few months, I have read several suggestions by Bruce Philpott. Were these disregarded? Are most suggestions to
save money tossed in the trash?
Government in general is under fire for just throwing money around and handing
out big paychecks and benefits. Who downtown is pushing for common-sense
cost-cutting to decrease the never-ending growth of government?
