08-09-10, Clearing the air between Mayor Najarian and Herbert Molano, Al Hofmann knows better

Dear Mr. Hofmann:

You are 100% absolutely CORRECT on many of the issues you point out on Hal Weber’s site but, in my opinion, you yourself are now adding to the very same distortions to which you write about.

To my recollection, Mayor Najarian never stated that the “lies and distortions” made by Herbert Molano were based on CalPers and the recent City of Bell issue.  Please do not further tangle the truth and add to the drama and “SPIN” certain activists look to create.  In my opinion, Mayor Najarian’s statements have nothing to do with the City of Bell and a financial crisis.  Maybe it has everything to do with the personal “hit n’ run” verbal attacks?  The truth is Mayor Najarian was responding to the repeated and multiple written attacks made by Herbert Molano that were irresponsibly printed and released to a self professed “thousands of Glendale readers.”  Fictitious and self created diatribe’s include but are not limited to: 1) an “Olympic” sized pool in Ara’s backyard with “multiple lanes.”  2) Hurtful personal statements referring to and including hair lines, hair follicles, and a genetic hair disorder, alopecia.  3) Statements made about personal lives, spouses, etc etc.  I can go on and on but, it serves no purpose other than glorifying the mistruths.

There is no question that the selfless efforts you and Molano have offered the city council are greatly needed and appreciated by many.  But the value of the statements uttered after the fact (and off camera) and statements that are further published on Blog sites clearly deteriorate and wear-out a person’s integrity and level of public respect.  Respect is a two way street.

So maybe the discussion should be the (allow me to quote a popular and favorite key word) “UNSUSTAINABLE” appetite of certain city council activist’s that have an uncontrollable addiction to constantly and relentlessly attacking the mayor on a personal level, but it is those very same activists that are the FIRST to cry wolf and run back home with their tails in between their legs when EXPOSED.

Respect is not a quality one can chart.  It is most certainly not a quality one can demand and is entitled to after presenting several tilted and watered down power point presentations.

Respect is EARNED and most certainly not a birth right as these few activist claim they deserve.

Post Scriptum: If you are really that confused and still can’t see past the smoke and mirrors.  Allow me to quickly clear the air and give you a clear and perfect example of respectable activism: Lenore Solis.

I submit, as food for thought, that a few should bite into a slice of humble pie and take a page out of her book.
