07-16-10, Sue Sarkis Reminds Us of the History of Civil Service Employee Retirement Packages

It would appear that both the unions and the various City Councils have totally forgotten the history behind civil service employees.  They were originally intended to be paid a considerable amount LESS than the private sector.  Why would anyone want such a job?  Because their retirement packages were quite beneficial and better than those in the private sector.

So now we have them earning a considerable amount more than their private sector counterparts with no concerns for termination thanks to the unions.  At the same time there is a heck of a lot of room for abuse as a good portion of them feign disability which entitles them to a TAX FREE pension.  What's worse, they then go into private practice and open their own businesses either as consultants, inspectors, adjusters, private investigators or some other such field.

FRAUD personified !!!!!  They should all be criminally prosecuted.
