05-30-09, Hal Weber Comments on Closed Door Salary
Negotiations
Here we go behind closed doors again
folks, where the public cannot see or hear how Mayor Frank Quintero and City
Council Members John Drayman, Laura Friedman, Ara Najarian and Dave Weaver represent (???) you!
– A G E N D A –
GLENDALE CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 2, 2009
1. CLOSED SESSION – 1:00 p.m.
a. Conference with labor negotiators. The
Agency designated representatives attending closed
session are: James Starbird,
Robert McFall, Scott Howard, Bob Elliot, Matt Doyle, Yasmin
Beers, and Randy Adams. The names of the employee
organizations are: the Glendale City
Employees
Association, Glendale
Police Officers Association, and Glendale
Management
Association.
You can be
sure there will be no concessions regarding the major reason for Glendale’s financial
crisis, the outrageous retirement pay and associated pension benefits
guaranteed to members of employee associations.
This is done in secret so there will be no public record of how contributions
to council members affect negotiations with these organizations.
Because Glendale residents have allowed salary and pension contracts
to be negotiated in closed session by council members who accept contributions
from employee organizations, Glendale, like so many other government agencies, is on the
road to a pension tsunami!
