GFD reported 267 fires in 2007. These included car fires, trash fires, trashcan fires, vacant lot fires, kitchen fires and an assorted others. There were no fires where structural damage was in excess of $500,000. Deputy Fire Chief Howard indicated that the GFD made a profit on reimbursed fires although public records indicate the GFD came up $64,000 short on mutual aid billings.
