First of all I would like to heartily
congratulate Laura Friedman on her victory, which was fairly and handsomely
won. As I got to know her and her
husband during the campaign, I can say that
As for Mr. Yousefian, the News-Press editorial
says: "Yousefian has been a polarizing figure at times, having a
number of public spats with fellow councilmen and sometimes taking unpopular
stances on the dais." But if, as
some say, the majority of the council members, the city manager and
staff, the firefighters and employees union's AND Glendale News-Press
are not acting in the best interests of the city and the general
population, surely Mr. Yousefian's "bulldog nature" is the one we
needed. Surely his "spats" and
disagreements would have made him the one that had to be retained. Of
course only IF all the above mentioned people are not doing right by the
people. Time would tell.
