03-30-09, A Message from Michael Teahan to Bruce Philpott Regarding Philpott’s Service as Pasadena Police Chief

Bruce,

Thank you for being clear about this, but you should never have had to respond in the first place.  With the Barry Allen team trying to associate me with “known prostitutes,” it would only make sense that they would assume I had stooped to the same base level of politics.

I was not referring to you or the office you held in my comments, they were not made on behalf of any surrogate or from any other candidate.  I don’t have them, I have never disparaged you or your motivations in this campaign and when I have been in error I have owned up to it.  If this is a can of worms, I didn’t open it.

We now find ourselves in a debate about your qualifications that I never sought, questioned nor asked for.  There are honorable people in this campaign and the actions and comments of Glendale’s infamous illiterati[1]are making it impossible to tell the difference.  And now my family gets to wonder how my lawn sign ended up in front of a house of questionable repute[2].

Thanks for that, Mr. anonymous contributor.  And thanks to Barry for making slander without recourse possible in Glendale.

Unfortunately for all of us, these hacks won’t go away when the election is over.  Perhaps if everyone on this list demands an apology on behalf of both of us, it might be a step in the right direction.

The Quintero and Teahan signs are on the lawn next door, by the way.

Michael Teahan

[1] An Illiterati takes pride in the fact that they are ignorant and refuse to learn, often to the severe detriment of those around them.

[2] The following statement appeared in an e-mail message published in the 03-29-09 Vanguard Weekly News with the anonymous signature AR: “Remember the Chevy Chase prostitute who was arrested in September? Whatever happened? Did she fall through the cracks? Actually the Judge kicked the case and she is home, with Quintero and Teahan yard signs stuck in her lawn.”
