Subj: RE: Appeal of a Decision

Dear Mr Philpot,

Thank you for taking the time to write to me.   While I can appreciate your position, and even after our phone conversation, I still find myself in the position to uphold the decision of my GNP editors -- and our standing policy.   While there may history here with regards to your position and your critics, I can assure you we are not keeping score.

However, if you believe our GNP readership base is critical to your public standing, then I might offer an alternative solution and suggest you may want to run an ad in our paper.   As you know, there is considerable paid media spent in political advertising, from the President of the US to the local councilman, taking their stories to the public.  It is a rich part of the American political landscape, and we welcome your business if you decide that is a viable route.  I have copied our Director of Advertising, Hector Cabral, who can help create your message, the creative and the words at a reasonable rate.

All the best in whatever you decide.  Thanks for being a loyal reader.  Regards,

John T. O’Loughlin
