02-02-09, Input from Vivian Charlton Regarding Glendale’s Unabated Traffic Problems

Carole's commentary takes me wa-ay back to the 1960's.  We had a house on Viscano just below Mountain and I had three little kids who liked to play up at Nibley Park.  I was afraid to let them cross Mountain to get to the park because the traffic was so fast.  I wrote a letter to the city asking them to put a stop sign just before the park and told them of all the kids who ran across the street.  I got a letter back saying that Mountain was a "through street" so people could zip across Glendale without stopping.  Years later, after we moved away, I drove along Moutain and found lots of stop signs, so I guess someone finally got some sense.
